We’re in a time when everyone should be thinking about their ‘why’.
Why is Alberts supporting the Yes campaign in the upcoming referendum on a First Nations Voice to Parliament? Because it aligns with Alberts values and commitment to equality and we believe if we are to move forward as a country we need to recognise, celebrate and give a voice to our rich First Nations history. We believe it’s right to recognise Indigenous Australians in the constitution and that First Nations people should be consulted in policy decisions that affect them. Voting yes will help create a stronger, fairer and more inclusive society for all Australians.
We’re proud to support Sally Scales, a Pitjantjatjara woman, award-winning artist and part of the leadership team for the Uluru Statement reform. Sally is calling on everyone – including the arts industry – to show support for the Voice. As Sally says, “The Voice is for a better future for all Australians. The Voice is about representation. And the Voice is about recognition. The Voice means we get to have a seat at the table, talking about the laws and policies that are enacted for us and our community. And we deserve and should be at that table.” We respect every person is entitled to their individual views.
