This moment is a culmination of decades of advocacy by Indigenous Australians calling for constitutional recognition.
In 2017, 250 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders and elders gathered at Uluru and formalised their request for practical recognition through a Voice in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations have again stood together throughout this year and invited Australians to join them in voting Yes – like the Central Lands Council delegates last week, captured in this stunning picture.
At Alberts we give our public support to Yes. We accept the generous invitation from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to walk towards a better, unified future together. We understand better outcomes are achieved when the people impacted by decisions have a voice in the decision-making process.
